Powder production begins with vacuum induction melting of fully traceable raw materials. After melting and refining, liquid metal flows through a nozzle, where high velocity inert gas impinges on the metal stream, atomizing it into tiny spherical particles. These particles rapidly solidify as they descend through a cooling tower into a cryogenic liquid quenchant. The result is high purity, pre-alloyed metal powder.
